This biography compendium of the Hanbali scholar Salih bin Abdul Aziz Al-Uthaymin (1410H) is the most complete book for Madhhab Hanbali.

Indeed, Sheikh Bakr Abu Zayd, who worked on the Tahqiq of the book, explains in the introduction that the author was very thorough in his work of researching and collecting the biographies of Hanbali scholars, beginning from Imam Ahmad to his time (the 14th century), bringing together more than 3,000 biographies.

Shaykh Bakr explains that if he combined everything that existed then as a work devoted to Hanbali scholars, it would turn around 1600 biographies only.

In spite of all the Shaykh Salih refrained from quoting all the biographies, and that is why the Muhaqqiq discovered during these researches some other hundreds of biography not present in the book, which he then gathered in a subsidiary work entitled “Fa-itu at-Tashil”.
